Whitetail Deer Bowhunting
We offer moose & whitetail deer combo bowhunts and wilderness moose hunts in North Central Alberta, Canada. Our hunting areas have good moose populations. The moose have also adapted to the farmland quite well and are often seen in the open. Our guides are experience bow hunters and have harvested many moose and whitetail deer with a bow.

Archery Moose & Whitetail Combo Hunts: The hunt consists of 6 days of hunting. The prime moose rut is the last week of September and first week of October. The hunt for Canadian moose will be by calling and spot & stalk. The hunters generally leave camp before daylight each morning by truck and travel to the chosen calling area. The hunters may be required to walk two to three miles or more on each outing, stopping occasionally to call. The hunters return to camp after the morning hunt at approximately 10-11am. ATV's may be used for hunting purposes to transport the hunters deeper into the hunting area.

The moose respond to the calls and often approach the caller by grunting and/or raking antlers on trees. They generally respond better in the early mornings. Shots are often at close range and should be placed in the lower part of the chest to get a good double lung hit. It is recommended that the hunter use a minimum of 60 lbs bow weight and a good broad head. The moose often approach the hunter head on. Although this is a makeable shot, it is not recommended and the hunter should wait for a good broadside shot. We generally strive to give the hunter a 100% opportunity which we consider to be a moose within 25 yards.

On our archery moose & whitetail combo hunt, we will generally hunt moose in the morning by calling. In the evenings we will hunt whitetails from treestands or blinds. The whitetails are usually hunted as they travel from bedding to feeding areas and are better patterned in the evenings. Shots will generally be at 20-30 yards with our tree stand being placed along game trails at a height of 14'-20'. We also use camouflaged ground blinds at some locations. Our area is well known for its many trophy whitetails and good opportunities exist to harvest a record class buck.

Wilderness Moose Hunts:
We have just added a new moose hunt in a very remote wilderness area. The guide for this area has had 100% success during the past 7 years on rifle moose hunts. The rifle hunts are 10 days and the archery hunts are 12 days. The moose are hunted during the rut by calling and spot & stalk and at mineral licks. A good number of 50" plus bulls are being seen. A comfortable tent camp is located deep in the woods accessible by 4-wheelers. Black bear combo can be added for a trophy fee and cost of the license if available.
